بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا اَمِیْنَ اللّٰهِ فِیْ اَرْضِهٖ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā amīna llāhi fī arḍih
Peace be upon you, O trustee of Allah on His lands
وَ حُجَّتَهٗ عَلٰی عِبَادِهٖ
wa ḥujjatahu ʿalā ʿibādih
and argument of Allah against His servants.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا اَمِیْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā amīra l-muʾminīn
Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful.
اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ جَاهَدْتَ فِی اللّٰهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهٖ
ashhadu annaka jāhadta fī llāhi ḥaqqa jihādih
I bear witness that you strove for the sake of Allah as it ought to be striven,
وَ عَمِلْتَ بِكِتَابِهٖ
wa ʿamilta bi-kitābih
acted upon His Book,
وَ اتَّبَعْتَ سُنَنَ نَبِیِّهٖ
wa ttabaʿta sunana nabiyyih
and followed the instructions of His Prophet,
صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَ اٰلِهٖ
ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhi wa ālih
peace of Allah be upon him and his Household,
حَتّٰی دَعَاكَ اللّٰهُ اِلیٰ جِوَارِهٖ
ḥattā daʿāka llāhu ilā jiwārih
until Allah called you to be in His vicinity.
فَقَبَضَكَ اِلَیْهِ بِاِخْتِیَارِهٖ
fa-qabaḍaka ilayhi bi-khtiyārih
So, He grasped you to Him by His will
وَ اَلْزَمَ اَعْدَاۤئَكَ الْحُجَّۃَ
wa alzama aʿdāʾaka l-ḥujjah
and put your enemies under the claim
مَعَ مَالَكَ مِنَ الْحُجَجِ الْبَالِغَۃِ عَلٰی جَمِیْعِ خَلْقِهٖ
maʿa mā laka mina l-ḥujaji l-bālighati ʿalā jamīʿi khalqih
although you have inclusive claims against all of His creatures.
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاجْعَلْ نَفْسِیْ مُطْمَئِنَّۃً بِقَدَرِكَ
allāhumma fa-jʿal nafsī muṭmaʾinnatan bi-qadarik
O Allah, (please do) cause my soul to be fully tranquil with Your decrees,
رَاضِیَۃً بِقَضَاۤئِكَ
rāḍiyatan bi-qaḍāʾik
satisfied with Your acts,
مُوْلَعَۃً بِذِكْرِكَ وَ دُعَاۤئِكَ
mūlaʿatan bi-dhikrika wa duʿāʾik
fond of mentioning and praying to You,
مُحِبَّۃً لِصَفْوَۃِ اَوْلِیَاۤئِكَ
muḥibbatan li-ṣafwati awliyāʾik
bearing love for the choicest of Your intimate servants,
مَحْبُوْبَۃً فِیْ اَرْضِكَ وَ سَمَاۤئِكَ
maḥbūbatan fī arḍika wa samāʾik
beloved in Your lands and heavens,
صَابِرَۃً عَلٰی نُزُوْلِ بَلَاۤئِكَ
ṣābiratan ʿalā nuzūli balāʾik
steadfast against the affliction of Your tribulations,
شَاكِرَۃً لِفَوَاضِلِ نَعْمَاۤئِكَ
shākiratan li-fawāḍili naʿmāʾik
thankful for Your graceful bounties,
ذَاكِرَۃً لِسَوَابِغِ اٰلَاۤئِكَ
dhākiratan li-sawābighi ālāʾik
always bearing in mind Your incessant gifts,
مُشْتَاقَۃً اِلیٰ فَرْحَتِ لِقَاۤئِكَ
mushtāqatan ilā farḥati liqāʾik
longing for the gladness of meeting You,
مُتَزَوِّدَۃً التَّقْوٰی لِیَوْمِ جَزَاۤئِكَ
mutazawwidatan at-taqwā li-yawmi jazāʾik
supplied with piety for the day of Your rewarding,
مُسْتَنَّۃً بِسُنَنِ اَوْلِیَاۤئِكَ
mustannatan bi-sunani awliyāʾik
pursuing the morals of Your intimate servants,
مُفَارِقَۃً لِاَخْلَاقِ اَعْدَاۤئِكَ
mufāriqatan li-akhlāqi aʿdāʾik
quitting the conducts of Your enemies,
مَشْغُوْلَۃً عَنِ الدُّنْیَا بِحَمْدِكَ وَ ثَنَاۤئِكَ
mashghūlatan ʿani d-dunyā bi-ḥamdika wa thanāʾik
and distracted from this world by praising and thanking You.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ قُلُوْبَ الْمُخْبِتِیْنَ اِلَیْكَ وَالِهَۃٌ
allāhumma inna qulūba l-mukhbitīna ilayka wālihah
O Allah, the hearts of those humbling themselves to You are fascinated,
وَ سُبُلَ الرَّاغِبِیْنَ اِلَیْكَ شَارِعَۃٌ
wa subula r-rāghibīna ilayka shāriʿah
the paths of those desiring for You are open,
وَ اَعْلَامَ الْقَاصِدِیْنَ اِلَیْكَ وَاضِحَۃٌ
wa aʿlāma l-qāṣidīna ilayka wāḍiḥah
the sings of those directing to You are evident,
وَ اَفْئِدَۃَ الْعَارِفِیْنَ مِنْكَ فَازِعَۃٌ
wa afʾidata l-ʿārifīna minka fāziʿah
the hearts of those having recognition of You are resorting to You,
وَ اَصْوَاتَ الدَّاعِیْنَ اِلَیْكَ صَاعِدَۃٌ
wa aṣwāta d-dāʿīna ilayka ṣāʿidah
the voices of those beseeching You are mounting up to You,
وَ اَبْوَابَ الْاِجَابَۃِ لَهُمْ مُفَتَّحَۃٌ
wa abwāba l-ijābati lahum mufattaḥah
the doors of responding to them are wide open,
وَ دَعْوَۃَ مَنْ نَاجَاكَ مُسْتَجَابَۃٌ
wa daʿwata man nājāka mustajābah
the prayer of him who speaks to You confidentially is responded,
وَ تَوْبَۃَ مَنْ اَنَابَ اِلَیْكَ مَقْبُوْلَۃٌ
wa tawbata man anāba ilayka maqbūlah
the repentance of him who turns to You modestly is admitted,
وَ عَبْرَۃَ مَنْ بَكٰی مِنْ خَوْفِكَ مَرْحُوْمَۃٌ
wa ʿabrata man bakā min khawfika marḥūmah
the tear of him who weeps on account of fear from You is compassionated,
وَ الْاِغَاثَۃَ لِمَنِ اسْتَغَاثَ بِكَ مَوْجُوْدَۃٌ
wa l-ighāthata limani staghātha bika mawjūdah
the aid of him who seeks Your aid is available,
وَ الْاِعَانَۃَ لِمَنِ اسْتَعَانَ بِكَ مَبْذُوْلَۃٌ
wa l-iʿānata limani staʿāna bika mabdhūlah
the help of him who seeks Your help is obtainable,
وَ عِدَاتِكَ لِعِبَادِكَ مُنْجَزَۃٌ
wa ʿidātika li-ʿibādika munjazah
Your promises to Your servants are fulfilled,
وَ زَلَلَ مَنِ اسْتَقَالَكَ مُقَالَۃٌ
wa zalala mani staqālaka muqālah
the slips of him who implore You to excuse him are forgivable,
وَ اَعْمَالَ الْعَامِلِیْنَ لَدَیْكَ مَحْفُوْظَۃٌ
wa aʿmāla l-ʿāmilīna ladayka maḥfūẓah
the deeds of those who act for You are preserved,
وَ اَرْزَاقَكَ اِلَی الْخَلَاۤئِقِ مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ نَازِلَۃٌ
wa arzāqaka ila l-khalāʾiqi min ladunka nāzilah
Your sustenance to the creatures are descending from You,
وَ عَوَاۤئِدَ الْمَزِیْدِ اِلَیْهِمْ وَاصِلَۃٌ
wa ʿawāʾida l-mazīdi ilayhim wāṣilah
Your gifts for further conferrals are reaching them,
وَ ذُنُوْبَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرِیْنَ مَغْفُوْرَۃٌ
wa dhunūba l-mustaghfirīna maghfūrah
the sins of those imploring Your forgiveness are forgiven,
وَ حَوَاۤئِجِ خَلْقِكَ عِنْدَكَ مَقْضِیَّۃٌ
wa ḥawāʾija khalqika ʿindaka maqḍiyyah
the requests of Your creatures are granted by You,
وَ جَوَاۤئِزَ السَّاۤئِلِیْنَ عِنْدَكَ مُوَفَّرَۃٌ
wa jawāʾiza s-sāʾilīna ʿindaka muwaffarah
the prizes of those begging You are offered,
وَ عَوَاۤئِدَ الْمَزِیْدِ مُتَوَاتِرَۃٌ
wa ʿawāʾida l-mazīdi mutawātirah
Your gifts for further conferrals are uninterrupted,
وَ مَوَاۤئِدَ الْمُسْتَطْعِمِیْنَ مُعَدَّۃٌ
wa mawāʾida l-mustaṭʿimīna muʿaddah
the dining tables for those seeking Your feeding are prepared,
وَ مَنَاهِلَ الظِّمَاۤئِ مُتْرَعَۃٌ
wa manāhila ẓ-ẓimāʾi mutraʿah
and the springs of quenching their thirst are brimful.
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاسْتَجِبْ دُعَاۤئِیْ
allāhumma fa-stajib duʿāʾī
O Allah, (so) respond to my prayer,
وَ اقْبَلْ ثَنَاۤئِیْ
wa qbal thanāʾī
accept my thanksgiving for You,
وَ اجْمَعْ بَیْنِیْ وَ بَیْنَ اَوْلِیَاۤئِیْ
wa jmaʿ baynī wa bayna awliyāʾī
and join me to my masters,
بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ عَلِیٍّ
bi-ḥaqqi muḥammadin wa ʿaliyy
[I beseech You] in the name of Muhammad, `Ali,
وَ فَاطِمَۃَ وَ الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَیْنِ
wa fāṭimata wa l-ḥasani wa l-ḥusayn
Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn.
اِنَّكَ وَلِیُّ نَعْمَاۤئِیْ
innaka waliyyu naʿmāʾī
You are verily the only source of my boons,
وَ مُنْتَهٰی مُنَایَ
wa muntahā munāy
the ultimate goal of my wishes,
وَ غَایَۃُ رَجَاۤئِیْ فِیْ مُنْقَلَبِیْ وَ مَثْوَایَ
wa ghāyatu rajāʾī fī munqalabī wa mathwāy
and the target of my hope in my recourses and settlement.
In Kamil al-Ziyarat, these lines are added.
اَنْتَ اِلٰهِیْ وَ سَیِّدِیْ وَ مَوْلَایَ
anta ilāhī wa sayyidī wa mawlāy
You are verily my God, Master, and Lord.
اِغْفِرْ لِاَوْلِیَاۤئِنَا
ighfir li-awliyāʾinā
(Please) forgive our friend,
وَ كُفَّ عَنَّا اَعْدَاۤئَنَا
wa kuffa ʿannā aʿdāʾanā
prevent our enemies against us,
وَ اشْغَلْهُمْ عَنْ اَذَانَا
wa shghilhum ʿan adhānā
distract them from harming us,
وَ اَظْهِرْ كَلِمَۃَ الْحَقِّ
wa aẓhir kalimata l-ḥaqq
give prevalence to the Word of Truth
وَ اجْعَلْهَا الْعُلْیَا
wa jʿalha l-ʿulyā
and make it the supreme,
وَ اَدْحِضْ كَلِمَۃَ الْبَاطِلِ
wa adḥiḍ kalimata l-bāṭil
and frustrate the word of falsehood
وَ اجْعَلْهَا السُّفْلیٰ
wa jʿalha s-suflā
and make it the lowliest.
اِنَّكَ عَلٰی كُلِّ شَیْئٍ قَدِیْرٌ
innaka ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr
Verily, You have power over all things.
