Say thirty-four times.
اَللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ
allāhu akbar
Allah Is The Great
Then say each of these thirty-three times.
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ
subḥāna llāh
Glory Be To Allah
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ
al-ḥamdu li-llāh
Praise Be To Allah
Then say.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ آدَمَ صَفْوَةِ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalā ādama ṣafwati llāh
Peace be upon Adam the choice of Allah.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ نَبِيِّ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalā nūḥin nabiyyi llāh
Peace be upon Noah the prophet of Allah.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلِ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalā ibrāhīma khalīli llāh
Peace be upon Abraham the friend of Allah.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ كَلِيمِ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalā mūsā kalīmi llāh
Peace be upon Moses the spoken by Allah.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ عِيسَىٰ رُوحِ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalā ʿīsā rūḥi llāh
Peace be upon Jesus the spirit of Allah.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā rasūla llāh
Peace be upon you, O Allah’s Messenger.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَيْرَ خَلْقِ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā khayra khalqi llāh
Peace be upon you, O Allah’s best creature.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَفِيَّ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā ṣafiyya llāh
Peace be upon you, O elite of Allah.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā muḥammada bna ʿabdi llāh
Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Abdullah
خَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّينَ
khātama n-nabiyyīn
and the seal of the Prophets.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَمِيرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā amīra l-muʾminīn
Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful
عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ
ʿaliyya bna abī ṭālib
`Ali the son of Abu-Talib
وَصِيَّ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ
waṣiyya rasūli llāh
and the successor of Allah’s Messenger.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا فَاطِمَةُ
as-salāmu ʿalayki yā fāṭimah
Peace be upon you, O Fatimah
سَيِّدَةَ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ
sayyidata nisāʾi l-ʿālamīn
the doyenne of the women of the worlds.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمَا يَا سِبْطَيِ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ
as-salāmu ʿalaykumā yā sibṭayi r-raḥmah
Peace be upon both of you, O grandsons of the Mercy
وَسَيَّدَيْ شَبَابِ أَهْلِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ
wa sayyiday shabābi ahli l-jannah
and two chiefs of the youth of Paradise.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلِيُّ بْنَ ٱلْحُسَيْنِ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā ʿaliyyu bna l-ḥusayn
Peace be upon you, O `Ali the son of al-Husayn,
سَيِّدَ ٱلْعَابِدِينَ وَقُرَّةَ عَيْنِ ٱلنَّاظِرِينَ
sayyida l-ʿābidīna wa qurrata ʿayni n-nāẓirīn
the chief of the worshippers and the delight of the eye of all seers.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā muḥammadu bna ʿaliyy
Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Ali,
بَاقِرَ ٱلْعِلْمِ بَعْدَ ٱلنَّبِيِّ
bāqira l-ʿilmi baʿda n-nabiyy
the splitter of knowledge after the Prophet.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا جَعْفَرُ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā jaʿfaru bna muḥammad
Peace be upon you, O Ja`far the son of Muhammad,
ٱلصَّادِقُ ٱلْبَارُّ ٱلأَمِينُ
aṣ-ṣādiqu l-bārru l-amīn
the veracious, dutiful, and honest.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā mūsā bna jaʿfar
Peace be upon you, O Musa the son of Ja`far,
ٱلطَّاهِرُ ٱلْطُّهْرُ
aṭ-ṭāhiru ṭ-ṭuhr
the immaculate and ever-pure.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُوسَىٰ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā ʿaliyyu bna mūsā
Peace be upon you, O `Ali the son of Musa,
ٱلرِّضَا ٱلْمُرْتَضَىٰ
ar-riḍā l-murtaḍā
the well-pleased and well-contented.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ ٱلتَّقِيُّ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā muḥammadu bna ʿaliyyini t-taqiyy
Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Ali, the pious.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā ʿaliyyu bna muḥammad
Peace be upon you, O `Ali the son of Muhammad,
ٱلنَّقِيُّ ٱلنَّاصِحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ
an-naqiyyu n-nāṣiḥu l-amīn
the immaculate, sincere, and honest.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَسَنُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ
as-salāmu ʿalayka yā ḥasanu bna ʿaliyy
Peace be upon you, O Hasan the son of `Ali.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْوَصِيِّ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ
as-salāmu ʿala l-waṣiyyi min baʿdih
Peace be upon the next successor.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ نُورِكَ وَسِرَاجِكَ
allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā nūrika wa sirājik
O Allah, send blessings upon Your light, Your lantern,
وَوَلِيِّ وَلِيِّكَ
wa waliyyi waliyyik
the representative of Your representative,
وَوَصِيِّ وَصِيِّكَ
wa waṣiyyi waṣiyyik
the successor of Your successor,
وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَىٰ خَلْقِكَ
wa ḥujjatika ʿalā khalqik
and the argument of You against Your creatures.
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalayki yā binta rasūli llāh
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Allah’s Messenger.
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ فَاطِمَةَ وَخَدِيجَةَ
as-salāmu ʿalayki yā binta fāṭimata wa khadījah
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Fatimah and Khadijah.
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ أَمِيرِ ٱلْمُؤمِنينَ
as-salāmu ʿalayki yā binta amīri l-muʾminīn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the Commander of the Faithful.
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ ٱلْحَسَنِ وَٱلْحُسَيْنِ
as-salāmu ʿalayki yā binta l-ḥasani wa l-ḥusayn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of al-Hasan and al-Husayn.
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ وَلِيِّ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalayki yā binta waliyyi llāh
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Allah’s representative.
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا أُخْتَ وَلِيِّ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalayki yā ukhta waliyyi llāh
Peace be upon you, O sister of Allah’s representative.
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا عَمَّةَ وَلِيِّ ٱللَّهِ
as-salāmu ʿalayki yā ʿammata waliyyi llāh
Peace be upon you, O paternal aunt of Allah’s representative.
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مُوسَىٰ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ
as-salāmu ʿalayki yā binta mūsā bni jaʿfar
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Musa the son of Ja`far.
وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
wa raḥmatu llāhi wa barakātuh
Allah’s mercy and blessings, too, be upon you.
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ
as-salāmu ʿalayki
Peace be upon you.
عَرَّفَ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ فِي ٱلْجَنَّةِ
ʿarrafa llāhu baynanā wa baynakum fi l-jannah
May Allah introduce us to you all in Paradise,
وَحَشَرَنَا فِي زُمْرَتِكُمْ
wa ḥasharanā fī zumratikum
include us with your group,
وَأَوْرَدَنَا حَوْضَ نَبِيِّكُمْ
wa awradanā ḥawḍa nabiyyikum
allow us to approach the pond of Your Prophet,
وَسَقَانَا بِكَأْسِ جَدِّكُمْ
wa saqānā bi-kaʾsi jaddikum
and serve us with water from the cup of your grandfather
مِنْ يَدِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ
min yadi ʿaliyyi bni abī ṭālib
and from the hand of `Ali the son of Abu-Talib.
صَلَوَاتُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيكُمْ
ṣalawātu llāhi ʿalaykum
Allah’s blessings be upon you all.
أَسْأَلُ ٱللَّهَ أَنْ يُرِيَنَا فِيكُمُ ٱلسُّرُورَ وَٱلْفَرَجَ
asʾalu llāha an yuriyanā fīkumu s-surūra wa l-faraj
I beseech Allah to show us delight and relief through you,
وَأَنْ يَجْمَعَنَا وَإِِيَّاكُمْ فِي زُمْرَةِ جَدِّكُمْ
wa an yajmaʿanā wa iyyākum fī zumrati jaddikum
to join us with you in the group of your grandfather
مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ
muḥammadin ṣalla llāhu ʿalayhi wa ālih
Muhammad, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Household,
وَأَنْ لاََ يَسْلُبَنَا مَعْرِفَتَكُمْ
wa an lā yaslubanā maʿrifatakum
and never to deprive us of our recognition of you.
إِِنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ قَدِيرٌ
innahu waliyyun qadīr
Verily, He is Guardian and All-powerful.
أَتَقَرَّبُ إِِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ بِحُبِّكُمْ
ataqarrabu ila llāhi bi-ḥubbikum
I seek nearness to Allah through my love for you,
وَٱلْبَرَاءَةِ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكُمْ
wa l-barāʾati min aʿdāʾikum
repudiation of your enemies,
وَٱلتَّسْلِيمِ إِلَىٰ اللَّهِ
wa t-taslīmi ila llāh
and submission to Allah,
رَاضِياً بِهِ غَيْرَ مُنْكِرٍ وَلاَ مُسْتَكْبِرٍ
rāḍiyan bihi ghayra munkirin wa lā mustakbir
accepting Him without denial or arrogance,
وَعَلَىٰ يَقيِنِ مَا أَتَىٰ بِهِ مُحَمَّدٌ
wa ʿalā yaqīni mā atā bihi muḥammad
being fully certain of what Muhammad has brought,
وَبِهِ رَاضٍ
wa bihi rāḍ
and showing full satisfaction with it.
نَطْلُبُ بِذٰلِكَ وَجْهَكَ
naṭlubu bi-dhālika wajhak
We, through this, only seek Your Face,
يَا سَيِّدِي ٱللَّهُمَّ وَرِضَاكَ
yā sayyidī allāhumma wa riḍāk
O my Master Allah, and Your satisfaction
وَٱلدَّارَ ٱلآخِرَةَ
wa d-dāra l-ākhirah
as well as the Next Abode.
يَا فَاطِمَةُ ٱشْفَعِي لِي فِي ٱلْجَنَّةِ
yā fāṭimatu shfaʿī lī fi l-jannah
O Fatimah, (please) intercede for me to win Paradise,
فَإِنَّ لَكِ عِنْدَ ٱللَّهِ شَأْناً مِنَ ٱلشَّأْنِ
fa-inna laki ʿinda llāhi shaʾnan mina sh-shaʾn
for you enjoy an outstanding status with Allah.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَخْتِمَ لِي بِٱلسَّعَادَةِ
allāhumma innī asʾaluka an takhtima lī bi-s-saʿādah
O Allah, I do beseech You to seal my life with happiness;
فَلاَ تَسْلُبْ مِنِّي مَا أَنَا فِيهِ
fa-lā taslub minnī mā ana fīh
so, (please) do not deprive me of that which I enjoy.
وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَلِيِّ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā bi-llāhi l-ʿaliyyi l-ʿaẓīm
There is neither might nor power except with Allah the All-high and All-great.
اَللَّهُمَّ ٱسْتَجِبْ لَنَا
allāhumma stajib lanā
O Allah, (please) respond to us
وَتَقَبَّلْهُ بِكَرَمِكَ وَعِزَّتِكَ
wa taqabbalhu bi-karamika wa ʿizzatik
and accept this from us in the name of Your generosity, almightiness,
وَبِرَحْمَتِكَ وَعَافِيَتِكَ
wa bi-raḥmatika wa ʿāfiyatik
mercy, and bestowal of wellbeing.
وَصَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ
wa ṣalla llāhu ʿalā muḥammadin wa ālihi ajmaʿīn
May Allah bless Muhammad and his entire Household
وَسَلَّمَ تَسْليماً يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ
wa sallama taslīman yā arḥama r-rāḥimīn
and pour down peace on them, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.
