بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
ashhadu an lā ilāha illā llāh
I bear witness that there is no god save Allah;
وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ
waḥdahu lā sharīka lah
alone without having any partner;
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُهُ
wa ashhadu annaka rasūluh
and I bear witness that you are His messenger
وَأَنَّكَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِٱللَّهِ
wa annaka muḥammadu bnu ʿabdi llāh
and you are Muhammad, the son of `Abdullah.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنّكَ قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالاتِ رَبِّكَ
wa ashhadu annaka qad ballaghta risālāti rabbik
And I bear witness that you have truly conveyed the missions of your Lord,
وَنَصَحْتَ لأُمَّتِكَ
wa naṣaḥta li-ummatik
well-wished for your nation,
وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ
wa jāhadta fī sabīli llāh
striven hard in the way of Allah
بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلحَسَنَةِ
bi-l-ḥikmati wa l-mawʿiẓati l-ḥasanah
by means of wisdom and excellent preaching,
وَأَدَّيْتَ ٱلَّذِي عَلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلحَقِّ
wa addayta lladhī ʿalayka mina l-ḥaqq
and fulfilled the duty that is incumbent upon you;
وَأَنَّكَ قَدْ رَؤُفْتَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
wa annaka qad raʾufta bi-l-muʾminīn
and you have been sympathetic with the believers
وَغَلَظْتَ عَلَىٰ ٱلكَافِرِينَ
wa ghalaẓta ʿalā l-kāfirīn
and unyielding to the unbelievers;
وَعَبَدْتَ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصاً
wa ʿabadta llāha mukhliṣan
and you have worshipped Allah sincerely
حَتَّىٰ أَتَاكَ ٱليَقِينُ
ḥattā atāka l-yaqīn
until death came upon you.
فَبَلَغَ ٱللَّهُ بِكَ أَشْرَفَ مَحَلِّ ٱلْمُكَرَّمِينَ
fa-balagha llāhu bika ashrafa maḥalli l-mukarramīn
Allah therefore has lifted you up to the most honorable place of the honored ones.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي ٱسْتَنْقَذَنَا بِكَ
al-ḥamdu li-llāhi lladhī stanqadhanā bik
All praise be to Allah Who has saved us, through you,
مِنَ ٱلشِّرْكِ وَٱلضَّلالِ
mina sh-shirki wa ḍ-ḍalāl
from polytheism and deviation.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ
allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā muḥammadin wa ālih
O Allah, (please) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,
وَٱجْعَلْ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَصَلَوَاتِ مَلاَئِكَتِكَ
wajʿal ṣalawātika wa ṣalawāti malāʾikatik
and make Your blessings, the blessings of Your angels,
وَأَنْبِيَائِكَ وَٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
wa anbiyāʾika wa l-mursalīn
Your prophets, the Messengers,
وَعِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّالِحِينَ
wa ʿibādika ṣ-ṣāliḥīn
Your righteous servants,
وَأَهْلِ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ وَٱلأَرَضِينَ
wa ahli s-samāwāti wa l-araḍīn
the inhabitants of the heavens and the [layers of the] earth,
وَمَنْ سَبَّحَ لَكَ يَا رَبَّ ٱلعَالَمِينَ
wa man sabbaḥa laka yā rabba l-ʿālamīn
and ever one who glorifies You, O Lord of the worlds,
مِنَ ٱلأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلآخِرِينَ
mina l-awwalīna wa l-ākhirīn
from the past and the late generations,
عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ
ʿalā muḥammadin ʿabdika wa rasūlik
be on Muhammad, Your servant, messenger,
وَنَبِيِّكَ وَأَمِينِكَ
wa nabiyyika wa amīnik
prophet, trustee,
وَنَجِيبِكَ وَحَبِيبِكَ
wa najībika wa ḥabībik
elite, most-beloved,
وَصَفِيِّكَ وَصِفْوَتِكَ
wa ṣafiyyika wa ṣifwatik
elect, choice,
وَخَاصَّتِكَ وَخَالِصَتِكَ
wa khāṣṣatika wa khāliṣatik
dignitary, select,
وَخِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
wa khiyaratika min khalqik
and the best of Your creatures.
وَأَعْطِهِ ٱلفَضْلَ وَٱلفَضِيلَةَ
wa aʿṭihi l-faḍla wa l-faḍīlah
And grant him preference, virtue,
وَٱلوَسِيلَةَ وَٱلدَّرَجَةَ ٱلرَّفِيعَةَ
wa l-wasīlata wa d-darajata r-rafīʿah
[right of] mediation, and sublime rank;
وَٱبْعَثْهُ مَقَاماً مَحْمُوداً
wabʿath-hu maqāman maḥmūdan
and send him a praiseworthy status
يَغْبِطُهُ بِهِ ٱلأَوَّلُونَ وَٱلآخِرُونَ
yaghbiṭuhu bihi l-awwalūna wa l-ākhirūn
which all the past and the late generations wish to have.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ قُلْتَ:
allāhumma innaka qult
O Allah, You have said:
﴿وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذْ ظَلَمُوٱ أَنفُسَهُمْ
wa law annahum idh ẓalamū anfusahum
“And had they, when they were unjust to themselves,
جَاءُوكَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا ٱللَّهَ
jāʾūka fa-staghfarū llāh
come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah,
وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ
wastaghfara lahumu r-rasūl
and the Messenger had also asked forgiveness for them,
لَوَجَدُوٱ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّاباً رَحِيماً﴾
la-wajadū llāha tawwāban raḥīman
they would have found Allah Oft-returning to mercy, Merciful.”
إِلٰهِي فَقَدْ أَتَيْتُ نَبِيَّكَ مُسْتَغْفِراً
ilāhī fa-qad ataytu nabiyyaka mustaghfiran
O my God, I have come to Your Prophet, seeking forgiveness of You
تَائِباً مِنْ ذُنُوبِي
tāʾiban min dhunūbī
and repenting before You from my sins;
فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ
fa-ṣalli ʿalā muḥammadin wa ālih
so, (please) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household
وَٱغْفِرْهَا لِي
waghfirhā lī
and forgive them for me.
يَا سَيِّدَنَا
yā sayyidanā
O our master,
أَتَوَجَّهُ بِكَ وَبِأَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ
atawajjahu bika wa bi-ahli baytik
I turn by you and by your Household
إِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ تَعَالَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَرَبِّي
ilā llāhi taʿālā rabbika wa rabbī
towards Allah, the Exalted, your and my Lord,
لِيَغْفِرَ لِي
li-yaghfira lī
so that He may forgive me.
Three times.
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
innā li-llāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn
Verily, we are Allah's and verily unto Him shall we return. (3 times)
أُصِبْنَا بِكَ يَا حَبِيبَ قُلُوبِنَا
uṣibnā bika yā ḥabība qulūbinā
We are stricken by losing you, O beloved of our hearts!
فَمَا أَعْظَمَ ٱلْمُصيبَةَ بِكَ
fa-mā aʿẓama l-muṣībata bik
Too shocking is our misfortune of losing you!
حَيْثُ ٱنْقَطَعَ عَنَّا ٱلْوَحْيُ
ḥaythu nqaṭaʿa ʿannā l-waḥy
Because the Revelation has been interrupted
وَحَيْثُ فَقَدْنَاكَ
wa ḥaythu faqadnāk
and because we have missed you.
فَإنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
fa-innā li-llāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn
Nevertheless, we are Allah’s and to Him shall we return.
يَا سَيِّدَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللّهِ
yā sayyidanā yā rasūla llāh
O our master, O Allah’s Messenger!
صَلَوَاتُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ بَيْتِكَ ٱلطَّاهِرِينَ
ṣalawātu llāhi ʿalayka wa ʿalā āli baytika ṭ-ṭāhirīn
May Allah’s blessings be upon you and upon your Household, the immaculate.
هٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلسَّبْتِ وَهُوَ يَوْمُكَ
hādhā yawmu s-sabti wa huwa yawmuk
This day is Saturday, which is your day,
وَأَنَا فِيهِ ضَيْفُكَ وَجَارُكَ
wa anā fīhi ḍayfuka wa jāruk
and on this day I am your guest and in your vicinity;
فَأَضِفْنِي وَأَجِرْنِي
fa-aḍifnī wa ajirnī
so, receive me as your guest and as your neighbor.
فَإنَّكَ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ ٱلضِّيَافَةَ
fa-innaka karīmun tuḥibbu ḍ-ḍiyāfah
Indeed, you are generous and hospitable
وَمَأْمُورٌ بِٱلإِجَارَةِ
wa maʾmūrun bi-l-ijārah
and you are commanded [by Allah] to host your neighbors.
فَأَضِفْنِي وَأَحْسِنْ ضِيَافَتِي
fa-aḍifnī wa aḥsin ḍiyāfatī
So, receive me as your guest and treat me hospitably;
وَأَجِرْنَا وَأَحْسِنْ إِجَارَتَنَا
wa ajirnā wa aḥsin ijāratanā
and accept us as your neighbors and treat us in due hospitability;
بِمَنْزِلَةِ ٱللَّهِ عِنْدَكَ وَعِنْدَ آلِ بَيْتِكَ
bi-manzilati llāhi ʿindaka wa ʿinda āli baytik
[I ask you] in the name of Allah’s standing with you and with your Household
وَبِمَنْزِلَتِهِمْ عِنْدَهُ
wa bi-manzilatihim ʿindah
and in the name of their standing with Him
وَبِمَا ٱسْتَوْدَعَكُمْ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ
wa bi-mā stawdaʿakum min ʿilmih
and in the name of the knowledge that He has entrusted with you all.
فَإنَّهُ أَكْرَمُ ٱلأَكْرَمِينَ
fa-innahu akramu l-akramīn
Verily, He is the most generous of all those who show generosity.
